The MAGA faithfuls, many of whom continue to support former President Donald Trump wholeheartedly, are looking to exert influence on the legislative agenda of Congress. His loss in the Senate Majority Leader race is a crushing blow to this faction who has often been sidelined in mainstream Republican politics.

Trump’s fiery rhetoric and disruptive tactics have deeply shaped GOP politics, with a deep divide emerging between establishment figures, such as Thune, and staunch MAGA loyalists.
